Night Lights on the Hudson

Reflected colors from the lighted peaks of the Tappan Zee Bridge at Tarrytown, NY. The horizontal stripes in the water are from waves created by a passing ship. If you ever wondered about the funny name, it is a combination of native american and dutch words. The Tappan is the name of the tribe that once inhabited this area. The dutch who came to NY in the 1600's referred to Hudson River as a "Zee" which was their word for a wide expanse of water.
