night sky

Newer Older

I practised a bit more night time photography with my March Yashicamat film. I am getting better but still not completely happy yet - I have really enjoyed doing it though and that's the important thing! There are some breaks in the trails because there were a few clouds drifiting across the sky. This exposure was about 55 minutes at f5.6.

Fantastic shot, I can understand how much you like it. I am totally addicted to night photography and have tried the star trails a couple of times. I have a couple of scenes planned, just got to wait for the right weather

Takes me back to my years as a keen amateur astronomer.
The subtle colours of the stars look just as the eyes see them.
There's even the distinctive trail of an iridium satellite flare above the tree.
