If Not Now, Then When?
Front page Masterpiece Gallery of the Apple Tree - April 2012
Today in "Beyond Layers" Kim talked about how easy it is to be behind the camera, but how difficult it is to be the one being photographed, or even doing a "Selfie". Our challenge was to post a picture of ourself, it didn't have to be a full body, it could just be a part, and it didn't have to be one we took ourself. This has been my biggest challenge yet, I hate to be in front of the camera, and I think it is because our society today focuses on the outside beauty, rather than the inside. How often do you see a magazine cover with an old, over weight granny, with white hair, wrinkles, blue jeans and hiking boots? Some days, I look at myself in the mirror and wonder why I look so old, because on the inside I certainly don't feel near as old as I look, LOL. I could do without the wrinkles and bags under my eyes, but I do like my natural white hair, and honestly, the extra pounds do not bother me . . . . this is "HappyGram" enjoying what she likes most, being out in nature, hiking and taking pictures. I don't have many pictures of myself to choose from, so what you see, is what you get.
If you are wondering about the title, last week the Beyond Layers lesson was about stepping up and making decisions rather than putting things off. We were challenged to make an "If not NOW then when?" statement. Posting a picture of myself is my statement to the challenge.
Thank you Flickr Friends, I appreciate your visits, comments, invites and favs.
Thanks to Kim Klassen for sharing the textures I used: KK Faved and KK Paperlove
I also used some vintage actions from RadLab.
