Apple Mail's 'Erase Junk Mail' Dialog

Apple Mail has two functions for erasing messages, this one for erasing the contents of the Junk folder, and another for erasing the 'Deleted Messages'.

I was curious as to why each dialog is a different type?

Junk uses a modal dialog with the options "No" or "Yes" to confirm the action. But Erase Messages uses a sheet dialog with the options "Cancel" or "OK" to confirm.
