Seitan Slices

For a long time, when I ask him if he has any requests for dinner, Phil has been mentioning that he would like to have seitan piccata. I've never eaten seitan, let alone made it, but I finally bought some vital wheat gluten and chose a random recipe from the internet. You first make a dough and then boil two "loaves" in vegetable stock for awhile. On the plate here we have one sliced loaf and one unsliced loaf, post-boil. This photo makes me gag a little. Anyway, you then have seitan and you can make it into whatever you desire.
