Breakfast at the cafe down the street

    Newer Older

Sunday breakfast - a meia de leite and a pastel de nata, both from a Portuguese cafe down the street from where I live.

A meia de leite is half milk and half coffee, but with less milk than a galao (which is also served in a glass cup). The pasteis were baked that morning at the Lisboa Patisserie and are so delicious!

"Pastéis de nata". I believe they are unique in all the world.
The singular of "pastéis" is "pastel".

lavender: thank you for that. I´ve changed it in my description.

Agnes: Yup, I don´t eat much for breakfast...just because I can´t stomach that much early in the morning.
