Mile Cross #3

The south-eastern tip of the estate can be seen in the middle of the shot here, where it's imaginary borders in the form of the Fakenham and Aylsham Roads split up before heading off north to their respective destinations. This point is roughly a mile away from the two Mile Cross boundary posts that are thought to be part of the reason for the name of the estate.

Junction Point House and a wood-yard used to sit on the tree-covered Island, with an old Horse-trough sat out front and can be seen here in this image. At some point there probably would have been a toll-house here to collect money from weary travellers as they made their way in and out of the City from the Norfolk Countryside.
