Ant Farmers

    Newer Older

This is perhaps my most detailed shot of ants yet. Lots of scope for improvement remains but I am quite pleased. Photography has won over horticulture yet again - the gardener in me does not want to let these ants and aphids have their way with my precious acer tree, but they are still there. ;o)

This is a great shot Rachael, they look extremely busy they also appear to be standing firm and not allowing anything past them.

You spot shots that most would not only walk by, but would not even see! It looks gruesome, but fascinating - and a great picture.

Get a box of Ladybugs.... They should eat the aphids and the ants will disappear by themselves right???

On second thought, let's not. This is a photo op.

Terrific. Those aphids look in a bad way, but is it all part of the 'farming'?

You're just letting the ants do the gardening!

I see no room for improvement as this is a dynamite image. Alas, the gardener in me would win out. I love the way this seems framed in reverse, from the out of focus background which is lighter. Quite intriguing.
