The Griffith Observatory

This was a very fun night in LA.

I went up to the Griffith Observatory with Tom to grab a photo. I had always heard about this spot, but never made it up there to take photos of my own. The conditions are very difficult, and the parking was quite rough. After a long walk and deciding on a shot, I set up for what you see here…

Maybe I’ll have to go back here with my Genie! :)

The difference in light levels between the sky and man-made lights here must be significant and you pulled it off extremely well. Superbly done Trey! Love the light on the lawn too!!!

It was worth the trouble - the shot really works well.

I am sure that tough walk and rough parking must have been forgotten after you saw this photo on your computer, coming from your own camera. Worth it.

I'm still trying to figure out what that laser light show in the front is...

Stars! In the sky! Amazing. I've seen literally hundreds and hundreds of GPO shots but this one stands out for the stars.
Rough parking? What? I don't understand what you mean.
Next time come before dawn and hike to the top of Mount Hollywood, that's the time. When conditions are right there are 5 (I think) mountain ranges surrounding the Los Angeles Basin in view.

Eventually Chapman University will have this available on line.

    Visiting...With Huell Howser #703 - MT. HOLLYWOOD

Join Huell on this early morning adventure as he talks to some of the hundreds of people who hike to the top of Mt. Hollywood everyday for their physical & mental health. Its going to be a great day!

You can get the trailhead from the back of the parking lot at the Griffith Observatory.
