      This must be Ukraine? Has an instant 'Soviet' feel when you look at it.

      Then on closer look I recognised a Lada car (the blue estate). Looking even closer (thanks for the generous resolution!) I could read the signs :)

      This is, apparently the entrance to the communal cellars - where residents of the surrounding flats can store unwanted stuff (or vintage wine, if they want; some even grow mushrooms in ideal temperature,humidity and darkness conditions :) ). Interestingly enough,they are only allowed access to their own storage space at certain hours...

      What at first looks like bullet holes is not form firearms (despite the rise of crime, guns are still controlled and not as widespread as... elsewhere). Those look like chips from hand-thrown stones or at best - catapult or airgun practice.

      Sorry about the 'forensic' comment, but such photos are really cultural documents with socio-historic meaning.

      It is, of course, a great photograph above all!
