This Way to the Holy Ghost Revival

    Newer Older

Here is one of those Texas roadside revivals that come straight out of the movies. I happened to get there around sunset, so there was nice dramatic lighting to complement the drama of the environs.

The place was totally empty. I got a little bit creeped out...and I felt like maybe I was being watched. I snapped a few quick shots and then made a hasty egress...

Odd & eerie and thought provoking - so the real question is "was anyone revived?"

Unbelievable! This image sent chills down my spine.

Excellent shot! Reminds me of the HBO drama series "Carnivale". The entire series was dark and several episodes featured old fashioned, depression-era, tent revivals. The show's website describes it as "a traveling carnival working the American Dustbowl circuit, and an evangelical ministry in California. " Veerrrry creepy...just like your photo!

I know what it feels like :) haha. Great shot, though. Kinda gives me the feeling of being in your spot.
