This is my take on a contempory classic, the original is called the Bramble. Created by Dick Bradsell formerly of the Atlantic Bar & Grill the birth place of modern british cocktails, Dick and his creations inspired many the current crop of great bartenders.

The original Bramble contained gin, black berries and creme de mure rather than raspberries and framboise.

4 parts vodka

2 parts syrop de gomme (sugar syrup)

2 parts lemon juice

2 parts creme de framboise (raspberry liquor)

6 fresh raspberries

shake raspberries, vodka, lemon & gomme, strain into rocks glass full of ice and drizzle over the framboise.

garnish with a couple more raspberries.
