946 at the newly refurbished Boots
It felt like a dream to be back on Princes Street, but after only a few minutes I remembered how difficult it can be for photography! The east / west lie makes for tricky light conditions all through the year and early on summer mornings, with the sun in the east, the famous Scott Monument and Balmoral Hotel landmarks are not easily available. The best shots are therefore to be had looking west or north west / east as we see here.
Airlink Volvo B9TL Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2, number 946 (SN10 DKY) brings passengers from their flights at Edinburgh Airport into the centre of town at Waverley Bridge.
Note the newly refurbished Boots the chemist flying both Union Jack and Scottish Saltire flags.
Princes Street is not today the great architectural splendour it once was prior to the 1960's but it's still one of the finest capital city centre streets in the world.
