Olympian 667 in Princes Street

A nice sunny Friday morning at the beginning of September 2010 and I have a morning off work! I have quite a bit of catching up to do to find the latest madder-and-white repaints so I think I'll go to Princes Street, or 'the beach' as I sometimes call it! As usual there's plenty of activity and I

sometimes think it's the easy option just coming here as we're always likely to pick up a few good shots and sometimes the odd surprise.

So whilst standing on the island opposite Marks and Spencers I happen to glance a red bus far along beyond Frederick Street. As it gets nearer I begin to think it's a Royale and then .... ding! I spotted the white grille and my word I'd better clean the lense and get my camera settings right as this was going to be a hot potato and I daren't mess it up!

Funny how you get a wee bit nervous when you see something a little special coming towards you and sure enough I'm right up sides with 667.

GSC666X and GSC667X were Edinburgh's first Leyland Olympians and new in 1982.
