Chongqing (China) - Path through the jungle
a farmer carries goods between gardens and paddies - Chongqing (China)
Chongqing is a gem of a city. Beyond ugly, yet exuding a profound and peculiar beauty, as the humidity allows for plants and trees to grow among the buildings. Everything is built on slopes, in layers, on top of each other.
Lost in the middle of Sichuan, Chongqing's economy has been booming for the past 10 years, which proves that China's growth is not limited to the megalopolises of the east. Gleaming malls have now replaced the shanty towns that used to border the Yangtze.
