On 30 Jun 2012, 27 Diocese of London deacons were ordained by the Bishop of London at its annual Eucharist service held at St Paul's.

The service saw the candidates presented to the congregation and the congregation then giving its assent for the candidates to be ordained. Each candidate was presented by supporting friends who had accompanied them on their journey to ordination.

Immediately after the Bishop had prayed for the candidates, they were vested in a white stole symbolising the liturgical role of deacons in the Eucharist. At the end of the service they were given the principal symbol of ministry - the New Testament.
