Church Urban Fund Service
A special Evensong service was held on Mon 18th June 2012 to celebrate the Church Urban Fund’s 25th anniversary.

During the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury focused on the work of the CUF in opening people's eyes to what we might not otherwise have seen in our society. He said: “Part of the vocation of the Church Urban Fund is constantly and deliberately to be on the lookout for what it is that, today and tomorrow, we are being subtly or not so subtly encouraged to ignore."

The special evensong service was attended by hundreds of people, and the service was sung by the Choir of St Martin's Episcopal Church from Houston, Texas.

Founded in 1987, the CUF was created to help the poorest people in England. Its aim is to increase the passion within the Church for the marginalised in this country and to make the Church's response more effective. Each year it supports over 300 church and Christian projects tackling poverty.
