The view of metro Manila from the northwest. The body of water to the right of the frame is part of Manila Bay. The long stretch of of highway is Roxas Boulevard, one of the more famous streets in Manila, Philippines. Part of the port of Manila can be seen in the bottom right of the photo.
The area just slightly to the bottom of the center, surrounded by green grass and bounded by the river, is the walled city of Intramuros. This was the city center during Spanish times. A concrete/stone wall was built around it. Today, universities, government buildings and other establishments are located within this walled city. Inside this area is one of the most historical places in the Philippines -- Fort Santiago.
