Into New Mexico

On Explore/Flickr Top 500, Sept. 9, 2008

Land area near the state border of New Mexico and Colorado. The river that flows from the bottom right of the frame to the top of the frame is Rio Grande. This view is facing south, up ahead is the state of New Mexico -- always been interesting and mysterious to me. And every time I hear or pass by New Mexico, I always think of Roswell -- for some reason and tune that plays on my mind.

Rio Grande flows from Colorado, down south to New Mexico, Texas and to Mexico. It flows out to the Gulf of Mexico, for a total distance of more than 3,000 kilometers from its Colorado source. This river is the 3rd longest in the United States. to the left(west of the river), is a dormant volcano, part of New Mexico. For reference, about 30 miles length of the river can be seen in this photo (from the bottom right of the frame to the top).

Shot taken over Sanford, Colorado, near the state's southern border.
