Fred Meyer 1990 Deli Department Chico, California & Hollywood West, Portland, Oregon
This is the large deli department at Hollywood West Fred Meyer, circa 1990. Unlike later versions of this prototype, the Chico and Hollywood stores along with perhaps a few others, got an enhanced deli department with extra space, along with the super cool statue of liberty signage above the deli.
Around 2000, the Hollywood West store in Portland's Sullivan Gulch district was remodeled. Most of these neon signs and elements survive but were updated, with the red canopy removed.
