Back to the Badlands of North Dakota

The Badlands of North Dakota in Theodore Roosevelt National Park back in January of 2010. It was about -20 F (-29 C) ambient temperature when I took this photo while visiting the park last winter.

You are probably wondering what the heck is Scott doing posting this in September? Well, this week, I will be returning to North Dakota. Though it did snow there last week, it will be gone when I again photograph from this location for more outstanding landscape and wildlife opportunties.

Mount Rushmore in South Dakota is also on the vacation itinerary. It should be a bully vacation! I know I have not been able to visit your photostreams lately. I will get back in touch when I return!

You can follow my adventures as I will be tweeting both comments and photos from my photo account at

Larry White, Jr. No, the snow wasn't very deep just caked on every surface. It's hard to beat what comes off Lake Ontario.

mr.KIO Mike Criss Sorry, guys! I'll post a warmer version of this landscape soon!

OMG does that look frigid! You're a brave man for being out in weather like that.

What an amazing landscape -- just gorgeous! Fall is in the air here in Massachusetts, but I'm definitely not ready for snow yet!
