Blippo Bold and Black (Mecanorma)

Graphic Book 14, 1988

One of the earliest of the 1970s Bauhaus-inspired phototype faces, Blippo was designed in 1969 by Joe Taylor for FotoStar, as part of their Facsimile Fonts range. It was named Blippo Black by Joe's boss, Robert Trogman.

Mecanorma offered two weights (Bold and Black) with various alternates, some closer to the shapes of Burko (released in 1968). These alts are not available digitally.
