Thermal Wonderland
These photo's were taken in Taupo, New Zealand and are of surface thermal activity's found in the Taupo Volcanic Zone.

The area is associated with thermal volcanic activities dating back about 160,000 years and is located right on the edge of the largest volcanic caldera (depression) within the active Taupo Volcanic Zone.

The wide range of colours are all natural and are due to different mineral elements such as, Sulphur, Collidial Sulphur/ferrous salts, Antimony, Iron oxide etc.
