Mother and son - Karearea - New Zealand Falcon - Falco novaeseelandiae

This series shows the female karearea at Zealandia with her fledged chick, now almost completely transformed from down to his juvenile plumage. The chick was being very vocal and after flying to its mother's perch and not being fed, he made a series of low swoops at his mother's head, perhaps play or practicisng his attack dives, or a bit of both. She was, at first, completely unfazed but after junior overstepped the boundaries a couple of times and actually collided, mum flew of into a thick shrub where the pesky teen could not bombard her.
