Just Ahead: A Universe of Possibilities
The famous "Big Sur" Coastline in Central California is meeting of sky, mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The roads hug the sharp vertical coastlines for many long winding miles... nearly every one of them a photo opportunity.
On this evening, the Milky Way hangs like an exit ramp from the Bixby Creek Bridge - one of the tallest single span concrete bridges in the California highway system - and arguably in one of the most dramatic locations.
The foreground was lit with a powerful spot light. In total 4 images (3 for the bridge and mountain light) and one for the sky were combined. My travel partner on this trip was Andy Morris. Good bloke.
Equipment and Specifications
Shot with a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II lens at 16mm.
4 Frames total - 3 to light the bridge (it's tricky getting it right and I used a 3 million candle power spotlight), plus one image for the sky.
