What's The Point?

This is an experimental star trail. It was created using a customized version of the very popular StarCircleAcademy Stacking Action. The new version with additional bells and whistles is not yet ready for publication - but check the site in a few weeks and I should have it all done. The new version will go faster, and have more tricks.

This image also uses a technique that I've explained before and which Eric Harness significantly expanded on BLOG on Night Panoramas.

Where was this taken? In a secret location, of course, but you're free to guess where. It's not the place I'll be conducting a Milky Way extravaganza, however.

I REALLY like the leading line of the gully, and the glow behind the central tufa towers. Both were entirely accidental, though. It was rapidly growing dark so I didn't realize that either attribute was part of the shot.
