Famous III [C_035478]

This photograph was taken immediately prior to the 2011 "Dark of the Moon Workshop". It was great fun and we are really excited about a repeat of the event this year. The 2012 Workshop went so well that we're doing it again in 2013 (or see here).

What is interesting about this to me is what a difference the white balance makes. Letting the camera decide as here created a sepia-esque scene that I find inviting. The blue-white of the LED flashlight skewed the scene in this direction.

The former shot I spent very little time on. I didn't admit in the write up, but part of the reason the original looks the way it does is that I kept the white balance as the camera saw it. Compared to the original I adjusted the white balance separately for the tree and the rest of the scene (to reduce the green).
