An Outing of the Bay Area Night Photographers [C_007979-8006]
Seven brave souls of the Bay Area Night Photography group went camping and hiking in the not too far away Pinnacles National Monument which lies about 23 miles south east of Hollister, CA. Unfortunately it appears that Hollister (or it could be Gilroy or San Jose) spews a lot of light into the sky making every night photo look like it contains part of a sunset.
This photo was taken along the High Peaks trail and used a flash to illuminate the foreground. There were 27 four-minute exposures each at f/3.5, ISO 400. Photos were taken in RAW, exported to JPEG with Digital Photo Professional and stacked using Image Stacker by Tawbaware. Since I did some playing around with a laser pointer I also had to edit two of the images to remove the garish light painting. I notice a tiny bit of red laser is still evident, however. Do you see where it is?
