Reaching for the Sky

One hundred 12 images, each f/4, ISO 800 for 60 seconds including a shot from twilight hour for the foreground.

This formation is called (incorrectly) the "Three Nuns". Incorrect, because I asked a local what it was called and was told that name. However there is a formation across the road from here which looks much more like "three nuns". We've been here a lot... dozens of hours in total. In this case I just let my camera run while I was assisting workshop students with their work.

Want to do this yourself? You can read our introduction to star trails and night sky shooting, and a step by step star trail creation description.
