The Colorado River Makes A Grand Arc

View it LARGER.

The mighty Colorado River here seen in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area turns almost 360 degrees. A relatively short walk from Highway 89 provides this vista - and it is only about 5 miles south of Page Arizona where many other wonders like Lake Powell and Antelope Slot Canyon can be found.

These photos were taken before sunrise, but after some color began to appear in the *west*.

This is a seven image stitch (left to right) using the freeware "autostitch" program and post processed with Picasa3 to correct white balance, and sharpen slightly. I attempted similar processing using Photoshop CS3... it made a mess and took a lot longer to do so.

Each image was 1.3 second f/10, 21mm, ISO 100
