Mono Lake South Tufas before Dawn *Explored*
I plucked an oldie out of the files. Still one of my favorite light painting accidents!
Mono Lake Tufas.
This is a 30 second exposure taken at 5:39 am - almost an hour before sunrise.
The nearest Tufas are illuminated by a flashlight. The foreground is lit from my red LED headlamp (it was unintentional!) Look carefully and you'll notice at least one star in the sky. This was a 30 second exposure as twilight began to arrive. For another image taken a few minutes earlier (and darker) see here.

This photo is from my early days. The improved contrast version I have hanging on my wall is so much nicer.
