Canon 5D MK II, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS, flash, tripod
I was testing out some more lighting set ups this afternoon and here is what I came up with. I think I read about the set up in a Scott Kelby blog post or something. I could have thrown a reflector underneath to soften the shadows a touch but I didn't want it to look too "girlie" - the eyes were suitably filled in and the shadow brings more edge.
Strobist: 3 x 580EX II in 50" Wescott Apollo directly behind me - my butt is literally touching the edge of the soft box. Single 580EX II in 24" Lastolite Ezybox above me angled down at about 45 degrees. The Ezybox is about 2 feet away from my face. The light coming out of the Apollo was f/22 @ ISO 320 and the Ezybox was same as my camera, f/14. Strobes and camera tripped with PocketWizard, post in Aperture 3.2. Set up shot is here..
