Sea Center Texas is a marine aquarium, fish hatchery and nature center operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). TPWD operates the fish hatchery with funds collected through fishing licenses and taxes on the sale of angler equipment and boats. TPWD operates three marine hatcheries that produce juvenile red drum and spotted speckled trout to stock in Texas bays. This hatchery has the capability to produce up to 15 million juvenile fish each year with 30 1-acre fish ponds.
