Golden Plover and Lapwing at RSPB Old Moor, Dearne Valley, Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Wading birds on the mud-flats at RSPB Old Moor.
Just a few of the 8 thousand or so Golden Plover (Pluvialis apricaria) which spend the colder months at this thriving nature reserve with a couple of Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus).
These waders probe the mud for food, mainly insects and crustaceans.
