Japanese White Pine Bonsai Tree, Pinus parviflora.
A fairly mature specimen with good bark texture, powerful trunk base and a flaring root spread.
This is how the tree looked in spring 2004.

    Camera: Nikon F50
    Lens: Cosina 28-210mm f/4.2-6.5

I use my photos as inspiration and reference for my paintings which can be seen at:

All of your bonsai photos are beautiful! (I've been a bonsai-addict for 20 years now.) Check out my photos. Many more to come.

When I first aquired the tree is was quite top-heavy and my aim has been to give the tree better balance and a neat conical shape, but with quite a broad canopy/apex.
Its freshly repotted here. Not sure if I'll do anything too drastic with it at this stage, but who knows?

if its just repotted don't touch the top for at least six months no wireing or branch bending just clean out the old neddles in september if theres strong new growth i'll ask my friend Cliff for his feeding program for us both he has amazing backbudding on his white pines hes been doing bonsai for nearly thirty years now some off his trees are in my photos of the spring show he is the head of our club
