The Hidden Lake at Hidden Lakes Park

When I visited the Hidden Lakes Park in Martinez, California, I found it to be an interesting park. With 26 acres of land, it has picnic areas, two playgrounds, large open fields, baseball fields, a basketball court, a volleyball court and hiking trails.

After locating it in my GPS and driving there, I looked around and saw all the wonderful things… but despite the name of the park, I couldn't find any lakes. So, I asked someone who was walking a dog if there were any lakes there. After he pointed out one of the trails to take, I took off hiking with my camera in hand. I took in some great vistas of Mount Diablo that was off in the distance, and eventually found one of the "hidden" lakes. There were half a dozen people fishing along its steep banks… and a the far end, there was a beautiful water fountain.

I'm thinking about going back soon. This time, I'll have a fishing rod in my hand! :D By the way, there is someone fishing in this picture--do you see him? (IMG_5658)
