An Ominous Cloud

This cloud formation is actually part of a marine layer rolling in during the early evening hours over the Carquinez Strait at the northern end of the San Francisco Bay. A mountain range in the distance forms a backdrop for an oil tanker terminal beneath the clouds. The threatening looking cloud, by the way, was not an incoming storm but part of the fog layer (which we call the marine layer) that rolls into the San Francisco Bay.
