Lower Glen Alpine Falls, Lake Tahoe, CA
Been shooting a lot of waterfalls this spring; with minimal snowfall last winter access has been easier then previous years, and I figured I better get out while the flow was good. These aren't "arty" landscape shots, but if you are planning a trip, this is what to expect.
Lower Glen Alpine Falls is between Fallen Leaf Lake and Lily Lake. I've posted a pic of this one before; here's the "full frontal" comp. No real effort required to view, as the falls are right next to the road. The 60 foot cascade makes for an odd comp, as the water steps down left to right. This is one of the largest falls in the Tahoe area, draining a portion of Desolation Wilderness. The cabin at upper right has one hell of a view...
