Soft Tones 365/338
A bit of a departure from my normal style, but it's fun to try something different.
Maybe I'm just in a mellow mood, as it is the opposite of the normally hard, crisp and contrasty images I do.
The softness is down to the subject though, the setup is exactly the same as I used for the glass of drink yesterday. No digital trickery either, as apart from a slight crop and resize, this is straight from the camera. The slightly warm tones are produced by the paper below, which give a hint of colour to the flash lighting. I could have corrected the white balance or even changed it to a monotone image, but I liked the warmth.
Guess I had better say what it is, as it may not be obvious :)
It's the top of a drinks decanter and is in a frosted glass, with a slightly opaque plastic bung to fit into the bottle part. The frosting on the glass almost acts like it's own light diffuser.
Rather than the normal setup shot, I have shown inside the light box/table that I used for the shot. and added a bit more of a description below.
