Difussion Screen 06
Continuing on from yesterdays description of DIY difussion screens : www.flickr.com/groups/creative_tabletop_photography/discu...
I dont think I have shown before, their use with coloured paper inserted, so time to put that right. I should state from the start, that they are nothing like as efficient as using proper Gels attached to a flash, as a lot of light is lost, but they are still reasonably effective.
The paper used is just standard coloured photocopy paper. Red to one side, blue to the other
The flashes are a couple of Neewer SF-01 mini slave flashes, mounted on radio triggers and mini tripods.
The Tumbler is sat on a sheet of clear acrylic, which has the underside painted black to create a black mirror.
A black card background is placed approx 12 inches/300mm behind the glass. The difussion panels as can be seen in the setup, are placed either side and also fitted with light blockers, fancy name for sheets of card, that prevent light spilling onto the backdrop.
Please excuse the marks on the glass, I just grabbed it from the cupboard and gave it a quick wipe off, but I think it is good enough for this demo :)
