As there's no buffer between the parking lanes and the bike lanes, this is a common hazard in Toronto. It's hard to anticipate, which therefore means it's often safer not to use the bike lanes on streets that permit parking. This photo is a case where parking isn't permitted - actually it's a no stopping zone! I was trying to get a photo of the delivery van unloading, and this car pulled up in front of me and opened the door!
