Get the Commissioner ... on the Gotham Phone

    Newer Older

Purchased this in 199? from "Cash Converters". Despite taking it back twice, it still doesn't work. But I just cannot part with it!
I once had plans to convert the hand-piece into a mobile phone ... but I couldn't convince myself to cut the cord to the base!

It's more the color that captures my heart. Truthfully, this telephone is not that old: These were built for a BATMAN movie.

COOL! You need an old clear plastic cake server sitting on top of it! :)

A what? Sorry, spacepotato, I can't say I know what you mean!

You'd have to remember the old 1960's TV series of Batman with Adam West and Burt Ward. The Commisioner's Bat-phone was covered with a clear plastic cake server with a kitchen tap stuck on top.

I'll have to get it on DVD to see that!

This lacks the original dialer mechanism, the one thing I liked about the old phones, anyone can see this is a push button unit! lol

Ansell, you've ruined the illusion! LOL

It may be a new reproduction telephone, but its still a classic phone design :-)

Thanks Old Telephones, glad you like this old classic. For the record, it has been in storage for about 5 years. One day I'll get it out and display as a vintage-model of a time-gone-by! :D
