I can imagine. I'd have camped out there for a while myself. The idea of viewing stuff on black is interesting, isn't it? Is this just a flickr thing as far as you know? You're right--I pretty much framed everything with a black border and had become almost dependent on it for consistency. I guess that's why I stopped using them...just wanted to prove to myself that I didn't need the framing for a complete image. Wisely done in this case I think as it works quite well. Have a good one, Stephen.

I can appreciate your concern about using frames and understand why you changed. I think they work in certain situations and I'm not hesitant to use one if I think the image warrants it.

One additional thing I like about using the frame for this image is the idea of this being a picture of a picture. I liked how the white wall reminded me of a screen. The images of folding screens are contained by their edges. I wanted to play with that idea a bit.

I'm really looking forward to this Golden Week. I can't wait to get out and get a little photography done. I hope you have a great weekend Michael.

Surprised this hasn't gotten more attention.

I'm getting more and more comfortable with images not getting the response I hope for. That's a good place to be mentally.

Indeed this looks like Japanese folding screens! Taken in April? It must have been still cold, although the sunshine was strong.

Fantastic, Stephen. A bit uneasy, the mood. Is it friend or foe? ;)
