A new drawing by expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley, made 2 days after 9/11. The charcoal drawing was inspired by drawings made on location in Manhattan - specifically a view of 6th Avenue from the edge of Central Park - in New York City in October 2010.
The artist was captivated by the intermix of skyscrapers and classic architecture divided by the shaft of sky; the city feeling like an urban Grand Canyon.
The work of Stephen B Whatley is in private collections worldwide - including many US States; and has been published in TIME magazine.
