Food waste - explored

"Almost half of the world's food thrown away, report finds"

    Guardian

McLean Drive, Vancouver, BC - but could be almost anywhere in the "developed" world. In Cory Doctorow's new book "Pirate Cinema" the protagonist survives by dumpster diving and squatting. A useful guide for some no doubt.

This type of low height dumpster is usually used for demolition waste. If the more normal 8' high dumpster had been used, there would not have been a picture.

From now on people may cut their order by half in restaurants or cut the purchases in supermarket by half to prevent waste! :o)
      Great message! Stephen
      Have a great Thursday!

Harris Hui I had just wandered down the street having seen something pass on the CP track. But I had seen the story about food waste in the Guardian earlier - and it stuck in my mind since my partner is doing what she can to reduce food waste at her place of employment. Somehow the coincidence seemed to call for some sort of action on my part.

That's enough to feed an army...absolutely shameful. (Excellent topic to share).

We would like to use your image above to introduce a global dialogue on food waste. Interested?
