Messier 31 : The great Andromeda galaxy

Messier 31 with its two satellites M110 (below) & M32 (above). One can see also the NGC 206 nebula, which is inside the galaxy, on the left part just under a dark area (this nebula is a cloud of massive young blue stars)

 

To get this image I used a O-GPS1 module and Sigma APO DG 300/2.8 on a Pentax K-5 IIs

This is the result of 15 images (20sec. each @1600ISO) stacked together,

No equatorial mount !!!! just a standard tripod and a O-GPS1 unit on a Pentax DSLR

No dark, no flat field, no offset images!! Just lens corrections with Lightroom and some fine tonal curve and slight colors adjustements
