Alatri - Ciociaria, Italy
Alatri is a medieval hilltop town in the region of Ciociaria (Lazio) that has an ancient Acropolis whose citadel walls were built with enormous polygonal boulders. The thick 15 meter high walls are also called cyclopean because it was believed they were built by Cyclops: mythological one eyed giants capable of lifting such huge boulders. The irregular boulders fight so snugly that you can't even pass a sheet of paper between them.

The town itself is beautiful, with a spectacular view of the surrounding valleys and hills.
