    Didn't like the pillow bed?
  • designersam 6y

OMG! This is fabulous. Now I want to make one. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. My kitties better not see this or they will be so jealous.
  • MrsLimestone 6y

I spent all that time making the pillow and he refused to sleep on it! If I put one of my black sweaters in there, he would have jumped on it about 2 seconds. Grr.

I just love this idea. Now I want to make one. Our kitties have a Like Kittyville mod bed which they loved when we first got it. Now they walk around it to sleep on the living room floor. Go figure. I move it around every couple of weeks to see if they start liking it again since its something 'new' to discover. They are really well made and are rather inexpensive at just $40ish.

This is just darling!!! .. and yes, darn cats can be so finicky!

So ridiculously cute w/the little pillow!!! And his personal gallery! Maybe if the pillow were flatter, it would still feel "nesty" to him.
  • MrsLimestone 6y

He eventually decided to try the pillow and now he loves it. His own girth has flattened it a little bit :)

Ok my pugs would love this is beyond cute!!

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called crafty thrifty frugal, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

There's a similar one on Etsy. I like the one you made with the lid better, but I'm wondering... has it ever fallen down on him?
  • MrsLimestone 5y

Nope, never fallen down. Its hinges are pretty tight. (And even if it did, it wouldn't lock him in as it doesn't lock nor does he fit entirely inside it)
  • elena-lu 5y

oh no i hadnt thought of the lid issue! im glad it hasnt fallen! whew! i still say brilliant!!!
makes me want to get a cat so i can make him one :)

Lots of people seemed to be concerned about it falling down but its really a none issue. Aside from it not ever moving at all, Ive never seen a vintage suitcase just lock closed on its own. You need to really jiggle the tabs to get it to close at all. Provided you get a small one, you don't have to be worried at all about safety. (A larger suitcase might be more of an issue b/c the lid is so heavy but this is not the case here)

What a TERRIFIC idea!!! When I'm prepping to travel, my cat's favorite spot in the world is my suitcase. She would love this, and I bet a larger sized case could be used to make a dog bed. PLUS, It would be easy to pack it up and move it out of the way when needed! Just great!

It's like a Murphy bed! What a riot! I think he needs a lead crystal something...a water dish the size of an egg cup, maybe?
