Front view of the Argus C, my latest estate sale find. It was very dirty and non-working when I got it. After a little cleaning and repair, it's mostly operational. The lens has a lot of focus error. But it is usable and produces some interesting results as can be seen from the photos in this set.

My biggest complaint with the Argus is how complicated it makes taking a photo. The process is:

    1) use the rangefinder to get the distance
    2) turn the camera around and read the range finder result
    3) dial the range into the lens with the focus ring
    4) make your best guess on the shutter speed
    5) make your best guess on the aperture setting
    6) cock the shutter mechanism
    7) release the shutter
    8) release the winder
    9) wind the film.

Step 8 can be a killer because if you forget to the hit the winder release switch, you'll shred and break the film when you turn the winder. Usually, your shot is long gone by the time you get all that work done! :)
