WM Hanover Terminal Plan 01

Reference Photo

For right now this is just a bit of brain storming/day dreaming. If I build this it wouldn't be for a while but it's fun to plan.

Translating this into LEGO with LEGO's limited track options will be a challenge. This will require a lot of modified track. Thankfuly it would not be 9v as I'd plan to use all plastic track for this since my Western Maryland fleet will mostly be Power Functions based. So modifing the track will be a little easier.

The coal tower will be one of the if not most dificult of the structures to build. It's big and has a lot of intricate detail to model. But will certainly be one of the higlights of the yard.

Right now I'm guessing on the placement of the sand house. I'm thinking it is obscured by the coaling tower in the yard photo I have. I haven't started extensivly researching this project yet.

The water tower should prove fun as well. The tank body shouldn't be to hard but the conical roof on the tank wii be a bit more tricky.

The turn table and ash pit and hoist will require that the whole yard layout be built up a little so that there can be room for proper depth pits for these stuctures.

The engine house is interesting. Instead of a more traditional steam era round house the WM built this square 6 stall building. This should make building it pretty staight forward but it's still a big building.

I'm not sure what some of the other buildings are yet. I'll need to do more research to find out.
